This Veggie Byriani recipe is an absolute treat for week-day meals that will satisfy your spice needs. Eaten hot or cold, this dish is delicious.



1 onion -finely diced

1 clove of garlic - grated

1 cm ginger - grated

1 sweet potatoes -diced

1 cup of peas

3 tbsp of flaked almonds


🔥 STEP 1
  • Finely chop the onion and finely grate the garlic and ginger. Gently fry in a pan with a splash of oil. Keep on a low heat for approximately 4 minutes until the mixture turns translucent.
  • 🍃 Top tip: if you find the mixture sticking to the pan, add a splash of water.
Step 1
  • 🔥 STEP 2
  • In a bowl, combine BANG!'s spices with 50ml of water. Blend into a smooth, thick paste. Pour the paste into the pan and continue on a low heat for approximately 4 minutes. This will magically turn into your curry sauce! Dice the tomato and add to the sauce.
  • 🍃 Look out for oils emerging from the mixture, then move onto step 3.
  • 🔥 STEP 3
  • Dice the sweet potato into (roughly) 1cm cubes. Then blanche and drain.
  • Add these to the curry sauce with ¼ cup of water under a lid and continue to cook on a low heat for 5 mins.
  • Add the basmati rice and stir into the curry. Cover with 200ml of water - simmer and cook until the rice is cooked.
  • 🍃 Finish with a sprinkling of chopped herbs and flaked almonds for a touch of luxury.
