Our Tarka Dahl recipe combines a warm blend of spices to form a magical dish bursting with flavour. It's quick, simple and very healthy, a dish to tuck into at least once a week.

Ingredients
1 small onion
2 cloves of garlic
Directions
🔥 STEP 1 : Soak lentils to soften and boil
- Empty the lentil pack into a large saucepan and soak with 500ml of warm water.
- After 10 minutes, put the pan on heat and bring to the boil.
- Then simmer for 15 minutes or until it's a thick consistency.
- 🍃 Top tip: During simmering, add 2 chopped tomatoes - (or my secret ingredient, roughly chopped rhubarb for that extra tart flavour).

🔥 STEP 2 - Make a spicy paste!
- In a separate bowl, combine BANG!'s spices with 50ml of water and blend into a smooth, thick paste.
🔥 STEP 3 : Now the magical bit - The Tarka!
- In a frying pan, fry the sliced onion and garlic with a small amount of olive oil. Sizzle in the pan until crispy.
- Pour the spice paste into the frying pan along with the onion and garlic mixture. Continue to fry on a low heat for about 30 seconds.
- Then add to the lentil mixture and stir.
- 🍃 Garnish with heaps of fresh herbs and dig in!
