This recipe is a fusion of Thai and Indian flavours. Rich with creamy coconut this Prawn Balti dish is a winner for the whole family.



500g-750g of king prawns

1 large pepper

1 medium sized onion

2 cloves of garlic

1 vine tomato

75ml of coconut milk

Optional: coriander for garnishing or curry leaves

๐Ÿ”ฅ STEP 1
  • Finely chop the onion and finely grate the garlic and ginger. Gently fry in a pan with a splash of oil. Keep on a low heat for approximately 4 minutes until the mixture turns translucent.
  • ๐Ÿƒ Top tip: if you find the mixture sticking to the pan, add a splash of water.
  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ STEP 2
  • In a bowl, combine BANG!'s spices with 50ml of water. Blend into a smooth, thick paste. Pour the paste into the pan and continue on a low heat for approximately 4 minutes. This will magically turn into your curry sauce! Dice the tomato and add to the sauce.
  • ๐Ÿƒ Look out for oils emerging from the mixture, then move onto step 3.
  • ๐Ÿ”ฅ STEP 3
  • Roughly chop your pepper and add to the curry sauce, whilst raising the heat. Add up to 100ml water and simmer for 5-10 minutes, until soft. Add the king prawns and cook for a further 5 minutes. Add the coconut milk in the last 5 minutes of cooking. Keep on a low heat until the curry sauce has thickened.
  • ๐Ÿƒย  Finish by garnishing with chopped coriander and serve with flat breads and basmati rice.
